Open Door Community Outreach Center, Inc. (ODCOC) is a nonprofit 501 (C )(3) community outreach organization whose mission, duty and purpose is to educate, equip, and empower people to become capable of meeting their own needs through educational, economical, and spiritual guidance.

It is our duty to be available and go beyond the doors of our organization and sow into the lives of individuals/families by providing resources to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills to assist them with setting and accomplishing attainable goals in hopes of them living a healthier, self-sustained, and productive life.

ODCOC provides monthly community spiritual counseling and prayer, life skilled classes, a monthly and emergency food give away, and a quarterly teen and women gathering to increase awareness about prevalent social and health topics.

Silent No More! This month's topic:  "Progress!"

Progress: Forward or onward movement toward a destination; proceed; to develop to a higher, better, or more advanced stage.

Now that we are mid-year, it is time to reflect on your life’s progress. Are you on the move toward a higher and better path or are you slipping back or stuck in a stagnated state?

Do not take for granted the little Word of God under your spiritual belts, a few victories won or how well your life maybe going at this moment. If you are allowing your attention to turn from the promises of God, your progress will be hindered in all areas of your life.

God’s Word talks about people that made great spiritual progress that when they got to the place where they should have been teachers, they allowed other things to get in the way causing them to slip back so far that they needed baby food again, “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat”Hebrews 5:12.

Do not let this happen to you. Be careful not to turn your attention away from the promises of God. When things are going well, do not just ride the wave, but dig deeper down into the Word of God. Keep moving from faith to faith.

Remember, believing in the promises of God is different than focusing your attention on the promises of God. Do not get so busy enjoying today’s victory that tomorrow ends up in defeat…Low Word Level = Low Faith Level = Slip.

Blessings,

Prophetess Carolyn Thomas
